One moment that made Dresbach tear up comes when Jamie describes seeing Claire at the wedding ceremony. He says that when he saw her for the first time, it was if he had stepped outside on a cloudy day, and suddenly the sun had come out. “It’s so beautiful,” she said, “and it’s the very first thing Ron had ever said to me, outside of ‘What costume are you doing next?’ This was back when we were working together on Carnivàle. And when I saw it in the show, it was all over for me. I cried, it was so romantic. It was a tribute to us.”

OK, this is so sweet. I’m so glad that Terry Dresbach is working on this show and has so much influence with her husband. She gets it. He gets it. It’s beautiful.

It’s the heart of the show, what happens on the wedding night," Moore said. "I think couples will enjoy it, because it’s neither a male fantasy of a sex scene, nor is it a gauzy boudoir bodice ripper. It feels kind of true. It feels like, ‘This is how it is.’

Me before the Outlander wedding:

Me after the Outlander wedding:

I’ll never forget when I came out of the church and saw you for the first time, It was as if I stepped outside on a cloudy day and suddenly the sun came out.

"What did you say?"

"I thought my heart was going to burst."

Jamie’s face… 1x07 The Wedding

Outlander critiques that, allowing Claire to explore her own sexual fantasies. Later in the episode, she asks Jamie to undress. It reminisces of that Daenerys-Daario scene, but Outlander lets Claire linger even longer. She circles Jamie slowly, and the camera follows, adopting the perspective of the female viewer. It’s one of the most blatant manifestations of the female gaze I’ve seen on television in a while. Outlander sexually empowers Claire, and because of the way the series positions us to intimately experience everything Claire experiences, it also invites viewers into the irresistible erotica. Only with Outlander, it’s not just the straight dudes who get the invite.

I love everyone’s reactions when they see Claire in her wedding dress for the first time.

Like Jamie:

Ned (whom I adore. Ned is a precious baby and I love him) and his lady friend:

But I think Dougal and Murtagh had the best reactions

Moore decided not to have full frontal nudity in the episode, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be in other love scenes between the newlyweds.

Just putting this out there for all the other filthy-minded people like myself.
