Pirates of Middle Earth
Stop being a douchebag with Bard, Thorin …
I was asked in an interview once: You’re writing another book with a female lead? Aren’t you afraid you’re going to be pigeonholed? And I thought, I write a team superhero book, an uplifting solo hero book, I write a horror-western, and I write a ghost story. What am I gonna be pigeonholed as?
Has a man in the history of men ever been asked if he was going to be pigeonholed because he wrote two consecutive books with male leads? Half of the population is women. I lose my temper here. And it’s certainly not at you. It’s just this pervasive notion that “white male” is the default. And you have to justify any variation from it.

Their reactions made my life complete.
The Golden Lily
By Richelle Mead
I know that The Fiery Heart is on everyone’s mind, but can we take a moment to appreciate The Golden Lily? I feel that this was a major step in Sydney Sage’s life. I can personally relate to this girl right here because there are been plenty of people that I have dated, but I haven’t felt passionate about. I haven’t had that spark, or that oozing feeling in your gut that has nothing to do with indigestion and everything to do with attraction and an actual connection. I’m pretty awkward in the social department, and I’ve always wondered if I would ever find someone that made me feel the way I see everyone else feeling. When I read that last sentence, a part of me died a little because I could relate with every fiber of my being to it and it made me horrified and scared that I’d be the same way. I was so utterly relieved for her at the end of the book, even though she runs away from Adrian. At least she knew then that she could feel. She just hadn’t met the right person until then. Way to go with your development, Sydney Sage. Way. To. Go.(via lifeisasong0)
